Kerry Washington opted for colorblocking in black and white on Wednesday for her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in New York City. The actress chatted with the eponymous late-night talk show host about her new film “Shadow Force,” her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony and more.

Washington wore an archival piece courtesy of Fendi, a dress from the label’s spring 2008 collection. The midi dress featured special circular embroideries in white.

Set against a black fabric with knitted details, Washington’s look incorporated classic elements with a contemporary edge. The dress included a halter neckline with the white embroideries acting as straps.

The same white embroidery motif was featured at the center of the bodice, and in a randomized cascading pattern on the skirt. As for accessories, Washington went minimal, keeping the focus on the archived dress from the Italian luxury fashion house.
