Early last year, E.L.F. Cosmetics released a product much raved about by most of the vlogging community. Let’s check out the ELF Camo Concealer and what the buzz is about in 2020.

When we talk about concealer, we want a product that stays put and provides coverage on all our unwanted facial discolorations, the ELF 16-Hour Camo Concealer promises a product that is highly pigmented and one that dries matte so we can be sure that it stays in place.

Shade Match

First of all, the 16-hour Camo Concealer was first released with an 18-shade collection in 2019. They have updated the original formula with 8 new shades for 2020. So let’s talk about the shade range and variety first and foremost.

It’s important to have a wide variety of shade matches with a concealer line, mostly because there are different skin tones and undertones. Having a wide variety means being able to cater to as much skin color as possible.

The 16-hour ELF Camo Concealer in matte finish comes in 7 shades of cool undertone, 10 shades of neutral, and 10 shades of warm tones. All including a good range of colors from light to deep colors. The satin finish variety comes in 25 shades.

I think it’s nice of E.L.F. to show the different swatches of the shades and the difference in the color pay-off from right-off-the-bottle application to when it is dry.

Instantly, you’ll see that the concealer dries down to a darker color compared to what you can see from the bottle. That is with the matte finish, at least. On their website, it says the hydrating variety dries to a color true to what you see on the bottle.

Packaging

Each tube of the ELF Camo Concealer comes with 6 ml worth of products housed in a pretty basic plastic packaging. The matte variety comes with a black cap and the satin collection comes with a white cap.

The brand name is written in a neat black ink across the tube. I really like that it looks basic and no-fuss, no gimmick just straight-up product. This direction with the packaging most likely helped with staying on the price point of $6.

The applicator is a bigger size doe-foot applicator, which you may or may not like. Personally, I am biased with the smaller applicator only because it’s useful for spot correcting. It avoids having to put too much product on one spot.

Formula

@banksmakeupboth are $6, both shade Medium Sand but the two formulas are very different! ##makeup ##makeupreview ##elf ##camoconcealer ##fyp♬ Rain On Me – Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande

The formula promises 16-hour wear that will get you from work to gym and back again. It is a full coverage concealer that won’t settle into fine lines. Perfect for those who have wrinkly under eyes.

If you have dry skin it’s best to try out a shade from the satin finish because the matte finish product will probably feel tight and itchy on your skin, as with most matte products.

Tati’s review on this product is that it blurs the pores on her skin and it stayed on pretty much the whole day. She actually really liked this however, let’s also take note that Tati’s skin is well taken care of. That means that her skin is well hydrated and nourished, and can tolerate matte-finish products really well.

Verdict: Elf Camo Concealer

For $6, this is a really good product. As with all cosmetics products, there will always be a learning curve to using them. Sometimes, it’s dependent on your skin chemistry, if you have sensitive skin, I recommend against it.

However, if you have normal skin then for this good of a price tag, I would definitely get the ELF Camo Concealer and play around with.

And that’s what I think about the elf camo concealer. I hope I was able to help you out with your next buying decision!
